Foundations of Caring
All Personal Care employees, office staff and onsite personnel adhere to a standard of care we call Foundations of Caring.
The twelve principles are core values and guidelines for the way we do business. Each month in Best, our employee newsletter, we focus on one of these foundations:
- Our clients and employees are our number one priority.
- You never have a second chance to make a good first impression.
- Come dressed for work on the outside and the inside.
- Have a friendly, positive and professional attitude.
- Smile and make eye contact. Remember the "10/5 Rule": Make eye contact at ten feet, extend a greeting at five feet.
- You are part of a team. Never speak negatively about anyone.
- Be a problem solver not a complainer.
- Respond to a client's needs immediately.
- Report condition changes and safety issues immediately.
- Personally answer the client's door and telephone. Never yell "Come in!" or just say "Hello."
- Communicate carefully, speaking slowly and clearly.
- Be proud of your work.
